Substance is eight generations of Benfield breeding and the product of an extended line of easy keeping, fertile, and high performing cows with longevity. He was the attraction and high selling bull in our 2009 sale going to Lindskov-Thiel Ranch in South Dakota. The early progeny data indicate Substance sires tremendous performance with modest birth weights and mature size. In addition, his progeny are admired for their attractive phenotype, structural soundness, depth and width of body, and excellent disposition. Substance is making a mark in the Angus breed with his first set of calves that will place him among the elite AI sires. His first son to sell at public auction brought $30,000 for Ellingson Angus in North Dakota. Substance is a dominant sire that will be a major part of our breeding program. Tracker 458 is a moderate framed, high performance and heavy muscled bull that we purchased from the highly respected Connelly herd in Montana. His sons are very popular with our commercial bull buyers who appreciate his calves for their natural thickness, disciplined frame size, performance, keeping ability and fertility. We are extremely pleased with his daughters. They are deep bodied, big volume and easy keeping cows of modest mature size. Java provided an unprecedented combination of muscle with calving ease. He was wide sprung, deep bodied and packed full of red meat. Java came from one of the top producing cow families in the highly respected Jauer performance herd. Java posted an impressive weaning ratio of 122 and a yearling ratio of 117 and was the second high selling bull in the 1999 Jauer Bull Sale. He consistently added muscle and performance to heifers. His calves out of both heifers and cows at Benfield have been small and we are confident he can be used on heifers calving under supervision.

Genesis raised the bar for weaning and yearling performance in a low-birthweight sire. Raised by Dick Jensen of Green Garden Angus, Genesis's progeny have been born easily and combine explosive growth with a structurally sound package and above average volume and muscle. Kona is one of the most complete and balanced trait bulls we have used in 40 years breeding Angus cattle. He is the rare calving ease bull that sires muscle and growth. His sons have been in brisk demand averaging $3000 in our last several bull sales. At nine years of age, he continues to service over 60 females in two breeding seasons. His daughters are fertile, easy keeping, structurally sound and good mothers. Our objective is to stack generations of balanced trait cattle with all of the important economic traits.
